HOUSTON METHODIST NEUROLOGICAL INSTITUTE

2025 Patricia Levy Zusman International Workshop on Neuroregeneration

The 2025 Zusman Workshop bridges the gap between molecular regeneration and systems-level neurophysiology by providing both a hyper-focused environment that allows participants to attend technical presentations on targeted subjects and a faciliatory atmosphere that promotes communication and collaboration between early-stage investigators and their more established peers. This is achieved through an intensive three-day agenda focused on combining neural stimulation and regeneration strategies to repair the damaged central nervous system. Notable speakers include Jan Schwab, PhD (Ohio State University), Kristine Cowley (University of Manitoba), and Reggie Edgerton, PhD (University of California, Los Angeles).

The Zusman Workshop is a collaborative network that stimulates new ideas among scientists and encourages collaborations and research by bringing rising-star investigators and under-represented minorities together. This workshop offers a hyper-focused environment with an incubator set up, intended to allow participants to attend technical presentations on targeted subjects, followed by a faciliatory environment where there is continuation over time on the progress of their science. Workshop participants are encouraged to discuss ideas with other investigators and are urged to collaborate on the projects based on the ideas exchanged during the workshop.
